AxeDaDJ
AxeDaDJ, born Moeketsi Selepe, is an 18-year-old South African DJ and emerging artist from Katlehong, formerly known as K1. His journey is rooted in a genuine love for music, self-expression, and the desire to create a sound that represents where he comes from while reaching beyond it. One of his recent releases is a Kwapi track created with a talented K1 resident he met at one of his friend's cribs. What started as a simple encounter turned into a musical collaboration, bringing together two artists from the same community and creating something they could share with the world. AxeDaDJ is also working towards something bigger: creating his own sub-genre. Rather than limiting himself to one sound, he is experimenting with different influences and ideas to develop a style that feels uniquely his. His goal is to build a sound that people can recognise, connect with, and eventually experience across the world. At just 18, Moeketsi is still at the beginning of his journey, but he is already focused on building his identity as AxeDaDJ and turning his ideas into a musical movement.
