Davide Poli

My name is Davide Poli, I am a pop-rock drummer born in Este in 1999. Music has been part of me since I was a child: I started playing drums when I was only three years old and since then I have never stopped studying, experimenting and looking for new ways to express myself through rhythm. I studied for over ten years with Riccardo Paio at the Circolo Musicale "Il Cenacolo" in Villa Estense, where I built the foundations of my musical training. Subsequently I continued my studies at the "Francesco Venezze" Conservatory in Rovigo, under the guidance of Nunzio Dicorato and Cinzia Honnorat, obtaining a three-year degree in Pop/Rock Drums in 2023 and the two-year specialist degree in 2025 with full marks (110/110) under the guidance of Stefano Peretto, Ricky Roma and Stefano Paolini Over the years I have participated in numerous masterclasses and clinics with drummers who I consider true references, such as Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd, Omar Hakim, Chris Coleman, Virgil Donati and Gavin Harrison. Since 2019 I have been playing with the tribute band "Liveplay", dedicated to Coldplay, a project that has led me to perform in different contexts in Italy and Europe and to specialize in the use of electronic drums and hybrid setups. Since 2023 I have also started to devote myself to teaching, holding drum lessons at Il Cenacolo and in other schools in the area (Villa Estense, Este, Ponso). In my teaching method I always try to combine technique, groove and musicality, helping each student to find their own identity behind the instrument. I believe that drums are not just rhythm, but a way to tell your story, to communicate energy and to grow as people — every shot is an emotion, and every sound can say something true. 🥁
