GRANVILLE MULLINGS, JR. is a 2-time GRAMMY nominated songwriter, composer and drummer born and raised in “Money Earnin’” Mount Vernon, NY. Granville started his professional career while he was a student at MVHS playing drums for NYU’s All-University Gospel Choir. This progression led him to the late great Joe Morello and then to a Jazz Composition degree at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Today he’s a composer, producer, and musician whose work appears on many productions and recordings, most notably, the GRAMMY nominated albums “Ready, Set, Go!” and “World Wide Playdate” by Divinity Roxx & Divi Roxx Kids featuring Tank from Tank and the Bangas, Victor Wooten, the late Malcolm Jamal Warner, famed songwriter Mary Brown and many so many others. Granville is a member of the Recording Academy, Class of 2023, a GRAMMYU mentor and serves as Co -Chair of Music Advocacy for the Recording Academy, NY Chapter. The Recording Academy advocates for the rights of all artists to create safely and be compensated appropriately for their art and it’s been an honor to be able to have a voice coming out of 4 Square Miles.
