Eketsang Motaung

Teflon E (born Eketsang Motaung) is a Johannesburg-based hip-hop and rap artist whose music is rooted in conscious storytelling, emotional honesty, and motivational depth. His slogan, “I’m Just Teflon E. ™”, represents his identity as an artist who stays authentic, grounded, and real. Teflon E began his music journey in 2019, recording in his bedroom using the mobile app Tune Me, often asking his family to stay quiet so he could capture his ideas. During this early stage, he recorded 11 full songs using Tune Me, tracks that currently exist on SoundCloud in private mode and will be made public in the future to showcase his growth and evolution. As an independent artist with no radio support, no paid promotions, and no ads, Teflon E has achieved nearly 80,000 total streams across all platforms simply through consistency, word-of-mouth, and direct connections approaching students at Wits University and building support from people he met along the way.
